Lions are people like you and me. They are men and women who care about their communities and the world around them. The International Association of Lions Clubs, founded in 1917 is the largest of all service organizations- with over 1.5 million members worldwide.
The North Cobb Lions Club is formally known as the Kennesaw-Acworth Lions Club. Our club chartered in 2006 and was renamed in 2011. We help those in our community with vision screenings, eyeglasses, and diabetes awareness.
Membership within our service organization provides men and women the opportunity to not only serve the community, but to grow professionally and individually. These are important benefits for everyone involved; the North Cobb Lions Club, you employer, the people whom we serve within the community, and of course YOU. In other words, everyone benefits!
As a Lions club member, you can make a real impact within your community. Whether it’s providing support locally or reaching out internationally, you will have the opportunity to serve. You will have the satisfaction of knowing that what you do makes an important difference.
Be part of a worldwide organization to carry out community and humanitarian projects. You have the opportunity to develop leadership skills and to grow personally by participating in our programs, community service projects and events.
You will experience the opportunity to know and enjoy fellowship of Lions members and others within the community.
You will also have the opportunity for networking within your community and will develop relationships with both local and international community business leaders.
We are best known for fighting blindness- it's part of our history as well as our work today. But we also perform volunteer work for many different kinds of community projects - including caring for the environment, feeding the hungry, and aiding seniors and the disabled.
We have 1.4+ million members in more than 46,000 clubs worldwide.
We are men and women who are active in community projects in more than 207 countries and geographic areas.
